Brooks-Range Cuts Sleeping Bag Technology In Half

Why carry a full sleeping bag, when only half will do?

Brooks-Range Cloak 15Brooks-Range’s new Cloak sleeping bag will be able to keep you warm this coming spring, without adding extra weight to your backpack. The company is always looking to minimize and lighten the load for backpackers and alpine back country skiers, so the Cloak is only half a sleeping bag. The idea is to sleep on an insulated pad and cover yourself with a water resistant, Down Tek insulated quilt. The 15 degree Cloak weighs in at 20 ounces, while the 30 degree rated Cloak weights 16 ounces, and the 45 degree rated Cloak is a featherlight 13 ounces. Brooks-Range eliminated the need for a zipper and the bottom portion of the cover has a small pockeet to keep it attached to your sleeping pad. The sides feature padded sleeves to keep the heat in and because it’s constructed from 15d Nylon DWR, the exterior is very light and durable. The Cloak will retail starting at $249.
